About Neil Davies

For over 50 years Neil has dedicated his to understanding and training horses and now you can take advantage of his knowledge and experience.

Neil has seen it all, from $100 backyard ponies to thoroughbreds worth millions. He's handled thousands of so-called bad, mad and wild horses over the past half century.

His knowledge is original and unique. It’s not something he read or saw or copied from someone else. He knows what he knows from working with so many horses, day after day, month after month and year after year.

“Neil Davies has penned the defining horse training manual for the 21st Century. It will be a very long time – if ever – before a better user manual for horses is written.”

Lesson 4
Teaching the horse to trot forward from the ground. Lifting his legs and holding for longer. Negative reinforcement explained.

Lesson 5
Being positive teaches the horse to move more freely and become more relaxed. Sitting on his back for the first time.

Lesson 6
Bringing it altogether. How building confidence, leg handling and circles from the ground come together when I’m on the horse’s back.

Lesson 7
Going over what he’s learned and not expecting too much. Coming back a step, rather than pushing on. Always thinking about next lesson.

Lesson 8
Instead of asking for more, I come back a step and show the horse what I want. The horse is becoming more relaxed and beginning to understand to move forward with the rider.

Lesson 9
Why I use a square yard. Why I Tap the horse to move forward. A forward walk, moving how I want, where I want, at the speed I want both on the ground and with me on his back.

Lesson 10
Introducing the saddle without frightening the horse. The first steps with the saddle and rider.

Lesson 11

Lesson 15
Using feed to catch the horse and going to the horse instead of expecting him to come to me. When everything is going well in a small arena, it’s no trouble to ride in a big arena. The first canter on each lead. Introducing the stockwhip.

Lesson 16
Introducing the bit for the first time. The first ride in an open paddock. Introducing the hose for the first time. An interview with Neil.
